April 25: 3rd Annual 5 Minutes of Fame
Attend TELR's 3rd annual "Five Minutes of Fame" on April 25 from 11:15 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Younkin Success Center. The event highlights 10 diverse projects selected from a pool of 30 applications from across the university. Come cheer your colleagues on and learn about innovative, effective uses of technology for teaching and learning.
This year's "Five Minutes of Fame" is being held in conjunction with the Academy of Teaching mini conference sponsored by FTAD. Although registration for "Five Minutes of Fame" is not required, attendees may register for other conference sessions, including a lunch/keynote address immediately following the "Five Minutes of Fame" session. April 14: The Future of Learning
Andrea Saveri, a senior research director from the Institute for the Future will discuss the Map of Future Forces Affecting Education created in conjunction with KnowledgeWorks Foundation in Cincinnati. Saveri focuses on understanding how individuals, organizations and communities make sense of the diffusion of new technologies and media and create new social, cultural, civic, and economic institutions. She will present a detailed look at a collection of factors that will be in play in ten years and discuss ways these will change the nature of learning in higher education by 2016.
